Hi guys! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend!
I have had a bit of a break from the computer this weekend other than checking in on a few emails. It’s been a great break! Mitch’s grandmother (Lydia’s great grandmother, aka GiGi!) has been in town this weekend and we’ve been spending a ton of quality time with her! We’ve gone shopping, and eating, and shopping, and eating…and eating some more!
She even got to see Lydia brave the big girl pool for the first time ever!
She loved it! And splished and splashed for quite some time!
So, to continue this break from the computer and enjoy time with my family, I’m turning the spotlight to a few lovely ladies I’d like to introduce to you today!
They are the awesomeness that have sponsored my blog this month! And I would LOVE for you to get to know them and send them some love!
Sit back, grab a glass of Dr. Pepper..or insert choice of drink *here*…and enjoy reading about some blogging advice and random fun facts from these ladies!

Seek out a niche, don’t do what everyone else is doing… because that is boring! Find a friend or fellow blogger and have some brainstorming sessions to think of new & innovative ways to reach out, connect & share your blog or service with others. Creativity is what will set you apart from what everyone else is doing!

from The Charming Blog
Hello! I am the blogger over at The Charming, a general lifestyle blog with focuses on art, inspiration, and wellness. I occasionally have outfit and fashion posts, giveaways, life stories, guest posts, recipes, etc. I recently got married and went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. We both love to travel, but know that there’s no place like home! We have a dog and two cats and we have big dreams for our future.
Best Blog Tip:
Know why you’re blogging. Some people are just blogging to keep family updated while others are full-time bloggers. Regardless, know why you’re blogging and then you will stand out with your readers. I love reading blogs where there is good mix of their personal lives (of course, I respect that some things remain private as I do with my own blog) as well as their blogging purpose: whether it’s to question the status quo of the fashion world or give their perspectives of live or to inspire people with DIY home tasks.
A random fact:
I love sharks. When I was younger all I wanted to do was be a marine biologist. In middle school, I researched the best universities for marine biology and I would discuss the “game plan” with my parents.
from Living the Creative Life
My name is Jennifer, but you can call me Jen if you want. In a nutshell, I’m a 33-year-old second-time college student. I realized last year that I didn’t want to be stuck in my boring desk job forever and decided to go back to school to become a graphic designer! Best decision I ever made!! (Not that I necessarily mind desk work, just as long as it’s balanced with being creative!)
Don’t get so stressed out about whether or not you post every day, or even at the same time every day. I know a lot of the “how to’s” suggest that readers need consistency, or some such thing, but in reality, most readers I know use some of sort of RSS reader to “TiVo” all the dozens of blog feeds they’ve subscribed to, so they really aren’t aware of what you, in particular, have going on as a blogging habit.
Consistency in tone and character is the more important thing… blog regularly, in whatever rhythm feels natural to you… but never apologize if you’re “late” or go off your internal timeline somehow. I know it seems huge to you, but nobody else noticed if you missed last Monday or if you posted at 8am instead of 7am. Just continue being your happy, normal self, and that’s what your readers will notice and respond to.
I dream of living in NYC. Hopefully someday I can make that a reality. It just seems like such a creative, exciting place, and it would be an honor to call it home.
from Flamingos in Raincoats
Hello new friends! My name is Hannah and I blog over at Flamingos in Raincoats. I’ve been blogging since I was 16 years old. Now, I’m 24 and a newlywed graduate student living in NC. If my photo is any indication, I blog about whatever random things come to my mind (yes, even riding on luggage carts)… I guess you could say I’m a lifestyle writer! If you visit Flamingos in Raincoats, you’ll find lots of recipes and posts about inspiration, music, and things I love. If you stop by, make sure to leave me a comment. I can’t wait to meet you!
My advice to fellow bloggers is to support one another! I love stopping by random blogs and leaving comments. When someone returns the favor, it really makes my day! As a blogger, I also feel it is important to respond to comments on my blog posts. I really love the community that blogging provides and it’s nice to support one another.
Here’a an unbelievable (yet seriously true) random fact about myself: When I was a kid, I broke the windshield of my mom’s mini van with my big toe!
from Pointing Up
Hello! My name is Dalayna and I blog over at “Pointing Up”. I am 22 years old, a college graduate of one year, and a youth pastor along with several other things, you know, all things to all people. Ha! My blog is kind of all over the place, mostly because it is about life, and who’s life fits under a single label, right? I write about what is important to me, the things that shouldn’t be important to me but are, and the wonder of life lived in love. The name “Pointing Up” came from my heart’s desire that my life point to God; that every part of my life brings glory and directs attention to Christ. That is my heart’s desire.
Here is my advice on blogging (not that I am an expert by any means!), write about what is important to you. It is easy to get into writing what you think will get the biggest response, but you will end up feeling like blogging is more work than fun, which is what it should be. My favorite part of blogging is networking with other amazing ladies. You immediately get to know who they are and what is important to them, because it should be all over their blog. I know one of the first things I do when I am checking out a new blog is go to the “about me” page, because that is where I am going to instantly find out about the girl behind the blog. Write each post in a way that has a piece of who you are in it.
A random fact about myself, hmmm… okay, this is extremely random, but because it is summer camp season this is one that comes to mind; I am the world’s worst at dodge ball! Seriously, I am great at the defense part of the game, I can dodge the balls all day long, but that only gets you so far. When it comes to throwing the ball it usually goes right over my opponent’s head or goes 15 feet and then bounces to my opponent’s feet. I wish I was good, I really do, but there is something in my genetics that limits me… that is my theory anyways. I would love to connect with YOU!
