It has been over a year since I’ve been in this space. It feels like forever ago and just like yesterday all at the same time. So many things have happened in a year. A ton of awful things. And a ton more redeeming, wonderful, beautiful things. And it’s those fantastically ordinary, lovely, messy, genuine things that I want this space to burst with. For the first time in quite a long while, I am so happy. We are just so very happy.
We had our second baby (birth story to come!)–a one Josiah Oliver who has knocked our socks off since he dropped (basically literally) into this world. Lydia completed her first year of school (pre-k). We have two baby chickens (eek!!). We moved cities (hallelujah!). We are back with our support system of ride-or-die friends and my incredibly supportive family. We are a jump, hop and a skip away from the mountains. We are back to our roots. Simpleness. And we are just so happy.
And now I want this space to get back to it’s roots. Back to where I started it to begin with when Mitch and I were newlyweds. A place where I can document our life. Our laundry-piling-up, dirty-dishes-in-the-sink, toys-scattered-about life. Our giggle-filled, baby-filled, quality-time-spent-together life. I want to remember these moments. Especially with a new baby around. I want to remember, in words, some of the things that make up this season of our lives. These are the days. These are the moments. Cheers to new beginnings. And I hope you’ll follow along with us as we continue this fresh start of our journey together as a family of four!
