Okay so, you know how I had to endure this big baby milestone this week? Well, I forgot to share with you another big moment I had to endure: walking up to get my baby in the Church nursery…and she wasn’t there!
Okay. That sounds bad. So let me explain.
We dropped Lyd off in the “Crawlers” nursery at our Church last Sunday, as we always do. We went on to big people Church. And when it was over, headed back to get Lyd, like every other parent. I love picking her up! When I go to get her, it almost feels like Christmas morning every time! I get all excited and can’t wait to get my hands on my baby girl.
So when Mitch and I walked up to the door and looked around the room and didn’t see Lydia, I had a major freak out moment. It took me about .001 seconds until my smiling face turned WAY upside down! And I looked at the lady and said, “Where is Lydia!!??”
And she calmly looked at me and said, “Oh, she’s on the red wagon going for a ride around the hall!”
And I took off. As I turned the corner only a few steps away, here’s what I saw:
Talk about a freaky moment! I didn’t know that sometimes they take the kids on a wagon ride down the hall to keep them entertained! Don’t worry, they still do the detailed check of your sticker and number matching up with her sticker and number before she is even unbuckled!
So, there she was all buckled in the cart with her diaper bag right next to her. Super cute…just like a civilized lady! And smiling at everyone who walked by!
Glad I know now that she may take a ride around the nursery hall! I can save myself from having more heart attacks!
