Not sure about where you are but it’s been a gloomy day around these parts. We’ve been spoiled for basically the entire winter here in Charleston. It’s been unseasonably warm. Which has meant lots of side-walk chalking afternoons for Lydi-girl and me.
Today, however, we have been stuck inside on account of the rain. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good thunderstorm, popping in a movie, baking some treats, and lounging around. But when you have a toddler built with what seems like 231,234 energizer batteries, staying inside can be quite a bit of a challenge!
Enter: my infinite childhood-knowledge of tent building.
Oh yes. That’s right. This mommy has a PHD in tent making. I used to make them ALL. THE. TIME. as a kid. We’re talking multiple bedroom tents. With kitchens. And make-shift windows. And vacuum cleaner phone systems.
And yes, this mommy sacrificed her freshly laundered sheets to entertain the little one.

So when little miss energy started pulling sheets out of the dryer this morning, I figured it was time to introduce her to the magical world of tents. And we hosted snack time in the tent. Along with play time. Enjoy!
grilled chicken, blueberries, bananas, and a flower in the dr. pepper bottle. No dr. pepper for the toddler, I promise!
So much fun eating and playing!
If you’re wondering, I did get in there with her…but taking a picture of that was a bit more of a challenge…and I wanted to just enjoy our time instead of worrying about the camera…
And then I asked her if she was ready for a nap-nap…
